Ali Cederholm is a versatile artist from Waunakee, Wisconsin. Her childhood was spent immersed in performance at The Kehl School of Dance, where she also began her choreographic journey. As a young adult, she received additional ballet and modern training at Central Midwest Ballet Academy and began studying hip hop at Barrio Dance as a member of the inaugural cohort of Barrio Dance Factory. There, Ali began teaching weekly intermediate/advanced contemporary drop-in classes in Madison and setting commissioned work for local studios, which she has continued to enjoy for the past five years. In 2021, Ali was accepted into the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she is currently finishing her senior year pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance with an emphasis in Dance Composition. During her time at the conservatory, she has performed works by Aszure Barton, Kurt Douglas, José Limón, Jennifer Archibald, Asia Pyron, and Norbert De La Cruz III. In both 2023 and 2024, she was selected to travel to Los Angeles alongside Jennifer Archibald to perform at the Crypto.com Arena and LA Convention Center at one of the largest K-pop festivals in the world. Additionally, Ali has choreographed several full-length ensemble works. Her pieces Landline and Caenogenesis, both created in 2023, were selected to perform in Boston Conservatory’s WinterWorks mainstage show and her most recent ensemble work, DIRGE, premiered in Becomings this past winter. She is currently restaging her selected work Landline on her class for their Senior Performance Project, which will debut in New York City this spring. Ali has also spent time outside of school attending various programs at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Perry Mansfield, Visceral Dance Chicago, LA Contemporary Dance, Generation IV Dance, SALT Dance, and Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. Ali aspires to continue immersing herself in versatility and intentionality across all genres and paths of dance, teaching, and dance-making.
